In this article, we will be talking about pinoy1tv the Filipino women's movement in Japan and their attempt to boycott Japanese Anime Cartoon show Samurai Knights: The Vanishing Swords. I will also be writing about the successful launch of the ABS-CBN production of the new animated series "The Princess and the Frog".

On December first, 2021, the Philippine delegation to the Japan Anime Conventions in Tokyo went out in the streets, holding placards with the pictures of the popular cartoon characters, such as Dragonball Z, Evangelion, Blue's Clues and many others. This action was taken in response to the Japanese Anime shows such as Samurai Knights: The Vanishing Sword which is supposedly a film which is insulting to the Filipinos and which will eventually destroy the image of the Philippines as a multi-ethnic state in the eyes of the Japanese people. I personally think that the Philippine government should be doing more in promoting tourism in the country and not focus on issues such as cultural insensitivity.

Like I said, the Philippine delegations to Anime Conventions were met with tremendous support by the people from all over the country who love to watch shows like Samurai Knights. Although there were some negative feedback from the people of Japan towards the Philippine delegation, the people who attended the Anime con nonetheless, declared that they will be voting for the Philippine bid for the next year's pinoy1tv champion. I personally think that it is great that we can witness something unique being done for the love of the Filipino people.

In terms of the pinoy1tv show itself, it features the story of two young lovers, Alodia and Dynamite. They are roommates at their college in the city of Taguig City and they are trying to survive in this very multicultural society. The show is funny at times but there is also serious situations that are depicted. It will definitely make you think how different the Philippines and Japan can actually get despite their differences in culture and way of life. The network used Filipino pinoy girls to embody the roles of the heroines in the series, and even gave them English accents.

I think that the best part of watching shows like Samurai Knights is that the main character, Alodia, was voiced by actress Camilla Fuentes, who is widely known for her English accent. This gives a more authentic feeling to the series. One might think that it is a little bit over the top as it is totally different from other Asian dramas, but I have always seen this as an advantage since Alodia's voice is not typically found on Filipina actresses.

If you want to watch a good soap opera, then you should definitely check out shows like Samurai Knights, Pani Estes, and Alodia's family. All three of these are very well written and have excellent plots. With a little bit of luck, I'm sure you will find your favorite Filipino soap opera by now.
